Pistorius 6 Years For Murdering Girlfriend, South Africa — A South African judge sentenced Oscar Pistorius to six years in prison for murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in his home on Valentine’s Day 2013. The double-amputee former Paralympian and Olympian hugged family as he arrived at the Pretoria courtroom and then sat stoically as Judge Thokozile Masipa explained the background to her decision before announcing the sentence. “I am of the view that a long term of imprisonment will not serve justice in this matter” said Masipa just before handing down the six-year sentence. Phillies Prospect Loses Right Eye In Freak Accident

By Mike Axisa/ Philadelphia Phillies left-handed pitching prospect Matt Imhof has lost his right eye as a result of a freak accident at the ballpark. A resistance band mounted to the wall broke off and hit Imhof in the face. Imhof posted the news about his eye on Instagram. 2017 Blue-White Game April 22 With Parking Changes

Not all but some Penn State football fans will have to pay to park next spring at the 2017 Blue-White Game which will be played at Beaver Stadium on Saturday April 22. The parking payment will be implemented to pay for costs associated with the game. According to Penn State Athletics, the Blue-White game costs the university more than $500,000 and staff was reduced from about 700 to 650 in 2016 to lower expenses. Following the game, about $60,000 is spent for clean-up outside Beaver Stadium. Season ticket holders will not pay to park. Their Blue-White Game parking will also…

Pegula To Host First NHL Pre-Season Game PARK, Pa – Penn State and the Pegula Ice Arena will host their first National Hockey League pre-season game, with the Buffalo Sabres and Minnesota Wild. (AP) — Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in Division I college basketball history who uplifted the women’s game from obscurity to national prominence during her 38-year career at Tennessee, died Tuesday morning. She was 64.
