ATLANTA – Penn State men’s basketball coach Patrick Chambers was named one of semifinalists for the 2020 Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year Semifinalist as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club today.

Chambers has guided the Nittany Lions to 21 overall wins and 11 Big Ten Conference wins, most league wins in his tenure at Penn State. The Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, native is one of only two Nittany Lion coaches to register two 21-win seasons in Penn State’s Big Ten era and his 148 wins at Penn State are tied for fourth on the all-time wins list.

Ten college basketball coaches across eight different conferences are in the running for the 2020 Werner Ladder Naismith Men’s Coach of the Year Award, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club today. Chambers joins John Calipari (Kentucky), Scott Drew (Baylor), Brian Dutcher (San Diego State), Mark Few (Gonzaga), Anthony Grant (Dayton), Leonard Hamilton (Florida State), Greg McDermott (Creighton), Bruce Pearl (Auburn) and Mark Pope (BYU).
