BTN.com – The Big Ten Conference has issued a statement regarding Brandon Smith’s ejection in the Nittany Lions/Wolverines game at Ann Arbor: During Saturday’s Penn State at Michigan football game, a Penn State defensive player was ejected for targeting with 14:55 remaining in the second quarter. We do not find fault with the flag that was thrown by the on-field officials as they are instructed to prioritize player safety when making calls. Michigan, Notre Dame Renew Rivalry In 2018

Notre Dame will host Michigan in the first game on Sept. 1, 2018, with a return contest set for Michigan Stadium on Oct. 26, 2019. The Wolverines and Fighting Irish last squared off in 2014 with Notre Dame routing Michigan 31-0. The programs had played consecutively from 2002-14 and 42 times in total dating back to 1887, including 31-of-37 years since 1978.
