LEWISBURG, Pa. – Coming off its best season in nearly two decades, the Bucknell football program has released its 2015 schedule. The slate includes the first two games of the season at home, a mid-October contest at Army West Point and six always challenging Patriot League opponents.

The Bison will play five home games at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium in 2015, including September contests against familiar opponents Marist (Sept. 5) and Duquesne (Sept. 12). This will be the 10th consecutive year Bucknell and Marist have met and it will mark the third time in the last four years the Bison have played their season opener against the Red Foxes. Bucknell and Duquesne met every year but two from 1997 to 2011 and will be squaring off for the 16th time in a series that dates to 1933.

The first road contest of the year will be Sept. 19 at Cornell, a team Bucknell has played every year since 2002. Following a bye week, the Bison will head down Interstate 81 to Lexington, Virginia, for a matchup with VMI on Oct. 3.

Six of the final seven games are against Patriot League opponents starting with an Oct. 10 home game vs. Lehigh. Bucknell defeated the Mountain Hawks by 38 points in their last trip to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium and the Bison are on a two-game winning streak in the series.

The trip to Army West Point is scheduled for Oct. 17. It will be Bucknell’s first game against an FBS opponent since playing at Kent State in the 2001 season opener.

The Bison will then return home for a Homecoming (Oct. 24) matchup against Patriot League foe Georgetown before playing three of their last four games on the road. Bucknell will close the season by playing at Lafayette (Oct. 31), at Fordham (Nov. 7) and at Colgate (Nov. 21) with a home contest against Holy Cross (Nov. 14) in between.

Kickoff times will be announced at a later date.

Bucknell, which concludes its spring practice schedule Friday, posted an 8-3 record in 2014, marking its most wins since 1997. It was the fifth time the program posted at least eight wins in a season. The Bison finished in second place in the Patriot League standings with a 4-2 mark and five of their nine All-Patriot League selections will return in 2015.
