Hernandez Found Guilty of Murder
AP/CBSSports.com – Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder Wednesday in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, and faces a sentence of life in prison without parole.
After seven days of deliberation, the jury returned a guilty verdict shortly before 10:30 a.m. As the verdict was read by the foreperson, Hernandez’s girlfriend and mother and Lloyd’s mother began sobbing. Hernandez sat down as his lawyers stood around him.
Hernandez was found guilty on all charges, including weapons charges. The jury ruled that he was guilty for reason of “extreme atrocity.”
