Worilds Retires
By Will Brinson/CBSSports.com – The strangest theme from Tuesday’s free-agency action by far was the sudden and abrupt retirement of several young players. Jason Worilds was the latest example on Tuesday night, walking away from the game while he was on the brink of a massive contract in free agency, just a year after collecting more than $9 million from the Steelers via the transition tag.
Worilds turned 27 less than 10 days ago — he is at the peak of his athletic powers and improving as a football player, posting 7.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries for the Steelers last season, a year after posting an 8-sack season.
