Penn State Crushes Purdue

GoPSUSports.com / WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After heading into halftime tied at 17, No. 24 Penn State scored 17 straight to open the third quarter and outscored Purdue 45-7 in the second half on its way to a 62-24 victory on Saturday afternoon inside Ross-Ade Stadium. The Nittany Lions had six scoring drives of under two minutes on their way to the first 60-point scoring game since the 2008 season (66 vs. Coastal Carolina). A Win For The Ages!

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — The white out in the stands became the white out on the field as Penn State fans mobbed their Nittany Lions. Well after the biggest victory of the post-Joe Paterno era was over, the cries of “We Are! Penn State!” echoed underneath 56-year-old Beaver Stadium and bounced off its big rusty metal beams. It felt like the good ol’ days for Penn State football and Happy Valley was downright ecstatic Saturday night after the Nittany Lions upset No. 2 Ohio State 24-21. “Obviously these types of wins are important,” coach James Franklin said. “To be…

Robbie Gould Signs With Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Josh Brown’s future with the New York Giants and possibly the NFL is in jeopardy after police released journal entries and emails in which the place-kicker admitted that he repeatedly verbally and physically abused his former wife. The league reacted Thursday by re-opening its investigation into a 2015 domestic abuse complaint made by Brown’s former wife, though prosecutors said they were closing the criminal case without filing charges because they could not secure key testimony from the woman and other key witnesses. Meanwhile, the Giants announced before traveling to London that Brown wouldn’t make the…

Maryland LB Suspended For Late Julius Hit

By Brian Bennett (ESPN) – Maryland coach DJ Durkin has suspended linebacker Isaiah Davis for this week’s game against Minnesota because of his late hit on Penn State kicker Joey Julius on Saturday. Davis was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct after he hit Julius following a third-quarter kickoff in Penn State’s 38-14 win. Durkin said after the game that he would have benched Davis had he not been ejected. It was the second week in a row that a player had been ejected for hitting the 258-pound Julius late, as Minnesota’s Jaylen Waters suffered the same fate for a similar late…
