      UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – With the 2023 Penn State Football season and a return to Beaver Stadium fast approaching, fans will see a variety of game day improvements during their visit this season.   Most notably, Gate D, located at the northeast entrance of the stadium, has been expanded into a family-friendly entrance and fan experience zone for both adults (Happy Valley Alley) and youth (Kids Zone).     UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football and the Big Ten conference announced four new kickoff times and three network designations on Wednesday.   Penn State’s matchup against Delaware on Sept. 9 will kick at 3:30 p.m. on Peacock.   The Nittany Lions’ Big Ten opener at Illinois on Sept. 16 will be a noon kickoff, featured on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff.   Penn State’s homecoming game against UMass on Oct. 14 is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff with a network designation to be determined.   The blue and white’s home game against Michigan on Nov. 11 will also…

Penn State-Iowa to Kick at 8 p.m. on CBS; 2023 Game Themes Announced

    UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football’s contest against Iowa on Sept. 23 in Beaver Stadium will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, it was announced on Monday.   In addition, Penn State Athletics has announced game day themes for the 2023 football season presented by PSECU. Board Committee Advances Initial Expenditure for Beaver Stadium Renovation

    UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning today (May 4) approved an expenditure of $70 million to complete the first stage of the Beaver Stadium renovation, which includes priority maintenance projects, winterizing and architectural and design development. The full board will vote on the project tomorrow (May 5).   The total project, to be completed in four years, is estimated to cost about $700 million and will be financed and paid for entirely by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. Big Ten Announces Men’s Basketball 2023-24 Home and Away Opponents

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Big Ten Conference announced single-play and double-play opponents Tuesday morning for the 2023-24 Penn State men’s basketball season. The Nittany Lions will face seven double-play opponents and six single-play opponents in the 20-game Big Ten men’s basketball slate.   Penn State will play both home and away games against Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Maryland, Minnesota, Northwestern and Ohio State. Mike Rhoades Named Penn State Men’s Basketball Head Coach

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft announced Wednesday the hiring of VCU head coach Mike Rhoades as the Peter and Ann Tombros Endowed Men’s Basketball Head Coach. In 19 seasons as a collegiate head coach, Rhoades, a Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania native, has produced a 373-189 record, a winning percentage of .664, seven NCAA Tournament appearances and nine national postseason appearances.   Rhoades, whose contract was approved by the Board of Trustees Wednesday, becomes the 15th men’s basketball head coach in Penn State history.
