NEW YORK (AP) – The NFL suspended Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady for the first four games on Monday for his role in a scheme to deflate footballs used in the AFC title game. The league also fined the Patriots $1 million and took away two draft picks, including next years’ first-round choice. The Notre Dame quarterback competition has apparently been settled. Everett Golson has decided to transfer and spend his final season of (immediate) eligibility playing elsewhere, as first reported by ESPN.com. Just where that elsewhere will be is not known at the moment. Golson was on pace to graduate from Notre Dame this month, and as a graduate transfer, wherever he ends up, he will not have to sit out a season. The Blue-White football game will be played Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Beaver Stadium. The intra-squad scrimmage is tentatively scheduled to kick in the early to mid afternoon. Fox Sports’ Steve Brynes Dies at 56
Fox Sports announced Tuesday that NASCAR announcer Steve Brynes died at the age of 56. Byrnes had been battling head and neck cancer after he was diagnosed in August of 2013. Sunday’s race at Bristol was renamed the Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes. IndyCar drivers and NBC Sports anncouncers at the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach also showed support for the Fox announcer on Sunday during the race and broadcast. He joined Fox in 2001 as the network picked up NASCAR rights. He was to be the network’s lead announcer for Camping World Truck Series coverage in 2015….
